Dooley Subdivision - Wallsend

Dooley residence backyard

Peter and Doris Dooley own a house on a large residential block of land at Wallsend. With the rear of the block not serving any particular purpose (except for adding to Peter's mowing time), they saw the potential to subdivide their land into 2 blocks; sell the rear portion; and give their superannuation a nice boost.

Glenn and Josh from AcroPlan met Peter and Doris on site and provided them with an overview of the process. Although the proposed lot would be marginally smaller than the minimum lot size required by Council, AcroPlan advised Peter and Doris that the justification for the subdivision development could be made. Upon determining that the development was feasible, AcroPlan were engaged to prepare a subdivision plan, stormwater design, sewer minor works contract, and relevant planning reports to Newcastle City Council. All necessary documentation was prepared within 4 weeks. The draft application was then issued to Peter and Doris for their review and approval. After receiving their approval, a subdivision application was lodged with Council on 19 June 2007.

AcroPlan contacted Peter and Doris on a weekly basis to give them an update on their application.

Newcastle City Council approved the subdivision on 15 August 2007. With the development now approved, AcroPlan lodged an application to Hunter Water Corporation, Energy Australia, and Telstra to obtain other relevant requirements and certificates. AcroPlan's Engineer, Steven prepared a sewer design and associated contract documentation for Hunter Water. The design was approved by Hunter Water within 3 weeks. Upon completion of the construction works, and with all approvals in hand, the subdivision could be finalised for registration by Peter and Doris' solicitor with Land and Property Information NSW. The sale of the land can now be organised through a real estate agent.

Peter and Doris have the following to say about their dealings with AcroPlan:

"We discovered AcroPlan after researching 'Development Consultants' on the 'net' and Yellow Pages. All contact was quick and highly professional.
All the staff involved in our project displayed a solid understanding of our development idea.

The team at AcroPlan worked well together and displayed a high regard for our objectives. We found that the staff provided us with accurate and appropriate advice in a timely manner. We were kept informed through out the entire process.

We experienced excellent customer service and no issue was a problem for the staff at AcroPlan. Our development objective was realised and more was provided than expected. Whenever we are asked about our plans, AcroPlan is mentioned in a very positive light. The most outstanding aspect of AcroPlan's service would have to be being kept totally informed throughout the entire process and following up on questions we had. We highly recommend the services of AcroPlan."
